The Dean of Students Office at Highland Community College serves as an advocate and resource to help students succeed both in and out of the classroom. The office provides support in areas such as student conduct, conflict resolution, behavioral and crisis response, policy guidance, and student advocacy. Resources like Student Support Services, Disability Services, and assistance with medical or emergency withdrawals are available to help students navigate challenges and stay on track toward their goals. At Highland, we’re committed to fostering a caring and supportive environment where every student can thrive.
The College is committed to full compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), as amended, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which prohibit discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities, as well as other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to individuals with disabilities. Under the ADA and its amendments, an individual has a disability if they have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity. The ADA also protects individuals who have a record of a substantially limiting impairment or who are regarded as disabled by the College, regardless of whether they currently have a disability. A substantial impairment is one that significantly limits or restricts a major life activity such as hearing, seeing, speaking, breathing, performing manual tasks, walking, or caring for oneself. The Coordinator of Accommodations has been designated as the College’s ADA/504 Coordinator responsible for overseeing efforts to comply with these disability laws, including responding to grievances and conducting investigations of any allegation of noncompliance or discrimination based on disability.
Understanding tuition can feel overwhelming, but HCC Online makes it simple. Our goal is to keep your education affordable while giving you flexible options to learn on your schedule. You can view detailed information on tuition, fees, and payment options through our Fiscal Services office. Financial aid is also available to help make your education even more accessible.
Highland offers a variety of financial aid opportunities—including scholarships, grants, loans, and campus employment—to help students manage educational costs. Many awards are based on financial need, while others recognize academic achievement or special qualifications. Financial aid is generally awarded based on full-time enrollment status, and our Financial Aid Office is here to guide you through every step of the process.
