Highland Community College vocal music and multi-media departments will present “SpongeBob the Musical” Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, March 29 at 2 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium in Highland. Join our students as they bring these iconic characters to life in a production enjoyable for all ages.
SpongeBob SquarePants attempts to avert a volcanic eruption that could potentially wipe out all life in Bikini Bottom. Promoting positive themes such as “Chop to the Top,” “I Miss You,” “I’m Not a Loser,” and “Best Day Ever,” along with ruffled relationships and challenging collaboration. Join us to see if SpongeBob and friends can save Bikini Bottom!
The performance features Indigo Ward (Oskaloosa) as SpongeBob SquarePants, as well as Ashton Roberds (Hiawatha) and Zoey Hedrick (Robinson) as his best friends Patrick Star and Sandy Cheeks. Sapphyre Miller (Hiawatha) and Lyle Simmons (White Cloud) bring to life Sheldon J. Plankton and Karen the Computer. Megan Swanson (Mayetta) is Mr. Krabs, Jocelyn Waymire (Easton) is Squidward, Abbey Gugelman (Sabetha) is Perch Perkins, and Asher Burks (Wathena) is the Mayor of Bikini Bottom. The production is directed by Shayna Leahy. Tanner Holte is the technical director. We’d like to thank the Bank of Highland (a branch of Bendena State Bank) for sponsoring this production.
