Highland Community College Expands Holistic Student Support with Launch of TimelyCare and New Health & Wellness Coordinator Role Available Across All Campuses
In a continued commitment to the health, connection and success of every Highland student, the College is launching TimelyCare—a 24/7 virtual health and wellness platform—alongside a new Student Engagement Coordinator for Health and Wellness. This two-fold expansion of its health and wellness initiatives is designed to meet the evolving needs of students, particularly those living in rural communities, by increasing access and support across all HCC campuses.
The partnership is an extension of campus health and counseling center resources, with a goal of improving student well-being, engagement and retention. The need for 24/7 access to high-quality care has never been more important. According to a report by Gallup and the Lumina Foundation, 69% of students who considered dropping out of college cited emotional stress as their reason. Through TimelyCare on their phone or other device, HCC students can now select from a wide-ranging menu of virtual care options from licensed physicians and counselors in all 50 states –without the barrier of traditional insurance. TimelyCare will provide students with on-demand access to mental health counseling, medical tele-health care, basic needs support and health and wellness coaching, anytime and anywhere.
“TimelyCare is honored to partner with Highland Community College’s incredible team to address the growing need for accessible, high-quality mental health and medical support,” said Luke Hejl, CEO and co-founder of TimelyCare. “By combining our team-based approach with the expertise of campus professionals, we can provide the unique care that campus communities need to thrive – academically, emotionally and personally. Together, we are creating a brighter, healthier future for students and educators, while fostering environments where well-being is a foundation for success.”
Ryleigh Trimble joins HCC as the College’s first Student Engagement Coordinator for Health and Wellness. In this new role, she will design wellness programming, act as HCC’s disability coordinator across all campuses, and help ensure every student is connected to TimelyCare’s coaches, counselors and medical providers.
“I’m excited to start rolling out TimelyCare at Highland! This resource will help our students thrive mentally, anytime and anywhere they need it. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the engagement team, and I can’t wait to support our students in the realm of health and wellness here at Highland,” said Trimble.
Together, these initiatives strengthen Highland’s holistic and proactive approach to student well-being; making care accessible, real-time and community-based for every Scottie, wherever they learn.
